It can be confusing to select the proper diamond for such an important occasion because so much is at risk: Firstly, the diamond is symbolic of your love and devotion to her and you would never want the quality and beauty to be lacking for that reason alone. Secondly, it represents a sizeable investment...and lastly, you are dealing with terms of quality that are not familiar to you...like how much color is too much; how much clarity is acceptable without detracting from the beauty; and why do some diamonds sparkle so much more than others.
Most people are more familiar with furniture than with diamonds because they have more understanding of woods and construction.
- SIZE
- The physical size, in dimensions, of a table would equate with Carat Weight, or size of the diamond.
- COLOR
- The color of the wood; ie; walnut, mahogany, oak, cherry, etc. would equate with the Color of the diamond.
- CLARITY
- How blemish free the wood is. Absence of knots, cracks, blemishes, etc. would equate with the Internal Clarity of the diamond.
- MAKE
- (workmanship) is how well the table is made. Are all the knots trimmed away and the joints perfectly matched? This equates with CUT, the most important aspect of diamond grading because it governs the raw beauty, sparkle and scintillation of the diamond. If you think of it this way, you know that the MAKE of the table is the most important factor, and the same is true with diamond CUT. And that's why Underwoods puts so much emphasis on how our diamonds are cut…..and that's why Underwood diamonds are so much more beautiful than others.
