This beautiful Tsavorite Garnet pendant/enhancer won First Place in the 2000 Carat Award competition for excellence of design and construction. Tsavorite garnet is a rare variety of garnet that occurs in an intense green color (rather than the typical burgandy color of garnet) and is extremely rare in this size and quality. The 18K gold and platinum mounting was created in Underwood's shop by a new technique called “laser welding” where all of the pieces are joined with a special laser machine, the first such machine in Arkansas.
